Frequently Asked Questions

What does Celestial show?
Celestial displays the Sun's current position in the tropical zodiac and visualizes its journey through the seasonal year — including equinoxes, solstices, sign ingresses, and solar events such as eclipses.
How accurate is Celestial?
Celestial computes the Sun's position using SwiftAA, an implementation of the algorithms from Jean Meeus's Astronomical Algorithms — the same high-precision methods (based on the VSOP87 planetary theory) used by professional astronomy software. Positions are accurate to well within an arcminute.
Does Celestial require an internet connection?
No. All astronomical calculations are performed on your device.
Does Celestial collect my data?
No. Celestial does not require an account and does not collect personal information. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I enable celestial notifications?
Open Settings → Notifications inside Celestial and choose the events you'd like to follow.
